The Dark Knight area is very hard to get a clear shot of, and most likely will be impossible to get a photo of once the leaves grow back on the trees (the park should be open by then though).

These shots were taken from the residential area behind the Shockwave hill. From the looks of things, they've only done some ground clearing, so I'll come back to this area in a couple of weeks:



Different story about the other side of the park. The top-half of the loop on Deja Vu is gone already and removal of the loop supports are underway. These were taken from the business park across I94:

About time they finally started taking out Deja Vu. I wonder how much of it will be left when the park opens :P

Update for DejaVu Removal:

The loop is now completely gone and a few supports remain standing.

Sad to see Vu go but exciting to see TDK go up! :)

The sky line will be soooo different without Vu's towers.

Quick update.

Loop track and supports are completely gone. Looks like they'll start working on the cobra next week.

Still no real update for Dark Knight. It looks like they've been concentrating on remodeling Theater Royale for now and will start vertical construction when it warms up more (next week maybe?).

That Silverwood looks like a really cool park from the pics! It's like out in the middle of the woods and mountains! That's cool. At least Vu will be in a nice place.

I was just thinking that. I wonder if they'll spring for a new paint job.

I've heard that there are plans to repaint Deja Vu, however when is a different story. If they have it built with enough time to spare, then they will give it a new paint job for this season. If not, then they will do it over the off season between 08 and 09.

Wow, Andrew, we are mind linked! I sure hope they don't pain it a new color! Vu can't be anything but green and blue...its just not right! Its like Batman being yellow! (puke)

Are you kidding? (puke) I could never never NEVER see Déjà Vu looking like that! Eeew!...no offense...but that is just about the ugliest thing I have ever seen! No blue and GREEN = puke for Vu no matter what! I guess it would look slightly less puke if the blue and orange would switch...but without green????? That is like Aunt Jamima syrup without pancakes! That's like spring without fall, it's like sfgam without rides, it's like rain without sun, it's like sfgam zone without Jon! It's terrible. If Vu is not blue and green, it's just not right! I know it sounds weird, but it's just not right. Not at all.

Nothing new to report on DejaVu:


A maintenence worker was working on a trim brake for Raging Bull. Judging from the clouds of smoke flying off the crane, I'm assuming he was painting or doing welding work.



Painting has begun on Raging Bull. Fresh orange paint is clearly visible on Bull's turnaround near the station.


Dark Knight has gone Vertical! These were taken from a hill near the entrance gate.

I wonder if there painting all of Bull. God I hope there taking out bull's trims... YAY TDK has gone vert!

Nice to see a new paint jop for bull and improvement on DK.

Theres no way they are taking off bulls trims that would be way to much fun and they dont like that lol :madness:

I remember Batman HAULING after it's paint job...if they could out the trim as well...that woudl be AWESOME!

Nice! Raging Bull is going to be even better now. I was hoping they were going to give it a new paint job. It's needed it.

There would be absolutely no reason for them to remove the trims, since if they ever decided not to use them, they can be turned off.

Yay! Brighter orange for Bull! I'm glad they are sticking to the same color. It's gonna look nice when it's done.

It's nice that Bull is getting a newer coating! It will bring back the MORE western looking look!

I am just going to post a link to this thread now. It's becoming a pain in the ass trying to split these weekly photo updates for three separate threads.

Lots of new stuff today...

First, Deja Vu's cobra is starting to come down. The evacuation platform is gone and a chunk of the track is gone.


Bull painting continues slowly. The second turnaround is looking new again, and much of the track out of sight appeared painted from Washington St.


Dark Knight construction has progressed well. The building structure is up and they were working on the roof today.






A second update will come later this week.

Good shots Jon, I see they're progressing well with TDK. It's going to be interesting to see how it will look without Vu when the season opens.....

I've always felt the faded look for Bull sucked. I'm glad it's being repainted. I should see it in person Wednesday.

I hope the ride is as good as it looks. If they have it ready by opening day i'll be shocked cause it's one month away and they don't have one piece of track up yet.

The park is going to look bland...that's for sure. It is going to take away a lot of spice. Good thing they are repainting Bull! If they didn't do that the park would look even more bland! I'm really gonna miss spotting bright blue and green in the sky :( The best color scheme ever and now it's gone...

DejaVu is down to a small portion of track on the cobra, and the towers.



Painting work continues on Raging Bull. Painters were up on the lift hill today working on the very top of the ride. Also fresh paint can be seen on some of the second half of the ride.




Dark Knight construction continues to move at full speed. The building's structure appears done and now they're putting up the corrugated steel walls. The former Shockwave crane appears to be out and being used for construction of the building or may be brought inside for track construction.

^ Its not going to happen. Right now, the target date for TDK is May 17th.

I figured it wasn't going to be done by opening day but I was hoping.

I'm loving Bull's new paint job! Goodness! The park looks bare already with all that gone from Vu.
