Title: Ricochet is here, but I miss the Big Top

This is how our Huss Swing Around (now Ricochet) use to look. It used to be up in the air where the Dare Devil Dive thing was. http://ptreport.thrillnetwork.net/triprepo...wingaround2.JPG

The ride just looked so good to me, but things must change overtime. Oh well. I just want to show that picture in case people never seen what it looked like before they put dung on it. ;) It became Ricochet in 1996 when they added Trailblazer (now defunct), River Rocker, and Chubasco. In 1997, you had Giant Drop, and in 1999 you had Raging Bull.

Before 1996, they even made it a little better. This was before the move to Southwest Territory. I think they painted it white and blue maybe to go with the American theme, but they changed it to the Southwest theme the next year. It wasn't open with those colors though (white and blue). There could have been red in it though. ??? It was probably the very end of 1995 and they started monkeying with it.

I think we are lucky to still have it at the park though.

I can remember when Marriott added many flats rides to the park in one season. Yes, Big Top was fun on a platform however what I remember is the long cold concrete enrty/exit. So few parks have this ride in operation. I was pleased with the move to Southwest Territory. To this day it still runs like new and I've grown to like it's new home. Now if only we could get a replacement for Richocet.

^You've grown to like it, but you want a replacement. There are so many aging flats I feel that should go way before Ricochet. Yes, Ricochet is aging, but it seems to get a longer line than a lot of the other flats. It does have less cars than other flats, but so what.

I really want to know how much difference the capacity between Triple Play, Condor, and Ricochet is. Triple Play is 340 on the thing I believe. Rue Le Dodge is 300. While, I'm at Batman the Ride is 990, and Demon is like 840.

I,m sorry I ment TrailBlazer, we need a forth ride in Southwest Territory. Leave the cows where they are, that is all.

I can't believe it that Ricochet is 330, and Triple Play is 340. Wow.

^It's okay.

They put a Cold Stone Limited right near Trailblazer. I think that half the arcade they left the Haunted House.

The new Cold Stone Limited fits in quite nicely. Now guests can find ice cream closer then HomeTown Square or Farmers Market. With this area having very little shade the venue will do well on hot days.
Have any of you tried the new shakes out at Ben@Jerry's yet? I like them better then Johnny Rockets. Either way now shakes can be purchased at mutiple locations just like every othe park on the planet. So far 2008 is shaping up to be a banner year.

This was probably better back in the day, with all of the lights, there are only a few rides that actually have lights. Sure that is fine for the fright fest theme but during the summer nights it is nice to have the lights adding to the amusement factor.
