Title: One Big Mess
Description: Thus Far

Ilovthevu' - June 16, 2008 02:58 AM (GMT)
This is a general type of trip report. I think that this is the worst season thus far at the park that I have ever had.

It's not just because of Deja Vu leaving, but there is a lot more to it. The park gets a new great ride called the Dark Knight. I think it's a great ride, but it's just like Deja Vu. So, why take out Deja Vu if it's just like it. It's gets a really low capacity, and it's always breaking down. Sometimes, they won't even tell you it's broke, or they are doing something with it, and you just stand there and wait.

For Superman, the guy sending people to the ride doesn't want to send enough people. The trian was very close to sending an empty row while there were tons of people waiting (flash pass, and the regular line). Send anyone! This brings to me what the security guard said as I was walking. Only half the supervisors know what they are doing.

For V2, they closed the line early one day for no reason at all. For the Dark Knight being down for taking one train off, all they say is that it's closed like it will never open again, and they are closing it just because of the line. For the waterpark, you are standing in the line for the Lazy River, and the lifeguard doesn't tell the people to just take the tube and go. Instead, we are just waiting for her to give us the tube, and walk around the corner. There are a lot of tubes, and there are a lot of people in line.

For the slides in Hurricane Harbor that are in the back of the park, they have signs that say blue one is this way, and yellow one is this way. You get up to the slides, and the lifeguards are doing different slides than what the sign says. Also on the slides, they won't just let you go when it's been enough time. Instead, you just have to wait awhile for the lifeguard to be done doing whatever he or she is doing, and than they tell you to go. If it's a green light like before, why are people waiting (The green light is for the 6 slide complex.)??

I'm fine with tv's, and the content even though it's more of a watch this, and we will show you ads. You are at least watching something, but go in the Superman line, and you will just want to buy earplugs. It is so horrible. They play that darn carwash song, denial song, and the unwritten song the whole day at the park. They also have buy a season pass, and they hardly play any Superman songs anymore. On top of that, they keep on telling us about the national weather thing over and over again like every 10 minutes. Don't forget the lady with the song in the background that say Six Flags is a non-smoking family friend place.

In Mardi Gras, you can listen to the family friendly B96, because I didn't hear the normal music.

The training is horrible this year. No one knows what they are doing, and the advertising is just absurd. For Rue Le Dodge, they have cars that are broken. For one cycle, they don't use them, but not the next cycle. Sometimes, in Hurricane Harbor they play the Hurricane Harbor music, but not last time, and it's also too darn low. And for advertising, I didn't mind it on Viper, or the bumper cars. I also didn't mind the electronic signs in the park. It's affecting the music in the park, and that's going way too far.

They also say no singles on the Great American Raceway which bugs me. County Fair opens at 11:00 am. The parking price is ridiculous. You lose so much capacity in the Theatre Royale, a Southwest Territory Ampitheatre that has like 5 shows during the year (concerts), and who really wants to see the videos in the Grand Music Hall? If you really want to use those videos, just put more of them on the tv's instead of always have Kit all the time. Is it only 3 hours of content or what?

For the Dark Knight, they have already been doing the nail marks into the walls after the preshow in the hallway. For Batman the Ride, you don't notice much of anything because that's better material than what they have on the Dark Knight. Also, people are mad because it's broke down, and after the preshow, you don't go onto the ride right away.

Do you want to know how bad the training is this year? They constantly have the Whirligig lights on the whole entire day. That's how bad it is. Also, the lady for Hometown Fun Machine didn't know how to turn the lights on. I guess it's not important.

Also, for the waterpark and the wavepool, they close the wavepool down for how many minutes because they are pretending to do cpr right in front of it. And they couldn't arrive at 10:00 am, and practice all this stuff??? Also for the wavepool, they turn it on, and it shuts off right away. Maybe, the thing is broke, but I don't know. Sometimes, it works fine though.

There was a time when we were waiting in the wavepool for like 15 minutes, and they didn't do nothing. Those Wahoo Racers weren't working in the waterpark the past times. I wonder if Shapiro killed those. I'm okay with that though.

The park went down the dumps this year thus far. Maybe, they will change some of the stuff, and people will get trained better, but how do I know? For the wall in County Fair, lightning was in the area, and they still have people climbing up the thing. The workers didn't say to get off the thing, but they are still climbing encouraging them to make it up while lightning could strike them at anytime. Get them off the thing, and give them their money back. That's all they had to do.

By the way, on June 15, I was at the park. I wanted to do a lot of flats this day because frankly I haven't been going on them that much this year. The flats were pretty packed. I think this largely has to do with the waterpark being a little too cold for the weather. It was father's day, and father's were free in the season pass book, and you know how season pass people just jump on everything free that's in the book like those CAD days. You also have not so many shows.

Yankee Clipper doesn't do any justice as it's a hidden water ride even though it was a little cold. They should have torn down Yankee Clipper, and kept Splash Water Falls. I could careless about either one being an extra water ride. When I went on Splash Wate Falls last, it was just because I was hot, and needed some water to cool me off. It's not like I got a big thrill from it.

Roaring Rapids is the water ride I used to get the big thrill out of, but they keep getting rid of the old boats which gave me the thrill. The new boats stink in my opinion. There were still like 2 old boats last year, but they might be gone now.

So, the flats were pretty crowded for being walk-ons a lot. A lot of them had 3 cycles wait, but not Ricochet. Ricochet's line was all the way to the entrance which is a long way for that ride. I got to the park late by the way because we wanted to go the restaurant earlier because I know how packed those restaurants can be on Mother's Day, and Father's Day.

So, I think I got in the park like 1:30, or 2:00 pm, and that's the most packed time of the park which is not so good, but anyway.

I did:

Triple Play: 3 wait cycle
Hometown Fun Machine: 3 wait cycle
Condor (3 times): 3 wait cycle, but later walk-on
Big Easy Balloons: 2 wait cycle
The Orbit: 1 wait cycle
Chubasco: 1 wait cycle
Sky Trek Tower: walk-on
Iron Wolf: 10 minutes
Batman the Ride: 10-15 minutes (2 times)
Rue Le Dodge: 3 wait cycle
Whirligig: walk-on
Pictorium (15 minute show / no glasses)
Superman: twice (25 minutes, and 41 minutes because it temporarlly stopped operatoin (I think someone threw up on the ride. They were just cycling the trains.), and worker not letting enough people going up the stairs)

Fiddler's Fling was broke. Ricochet was jammed packed.

I wanted to go on the Dark Knight at 7:00 pm, but my brother threw up because he wasn't feeling good (not because of rides though), so I had to leave.

So, I did 16 rides plus a show in 5 hours. Of course, a lot of them were flats, but I wanted to go on them.
