Title: 7/15/08 - Hot & Crowded

Figured it was going to be a boring day otherwise so I headed to the park around 2:00 or so.

You're in my parking spot...

Walked around for a bit and saw everything had a ridiculous line except for railroad, did about a lap and a half around before getting off:

Rode Viper, then headed to White Castle for dinner and headed home for a couple of hours to get out of the heat.

Went and saw this, the 3D effects were mediocre, and it's really such a shame they don't use the entire screen anymore.

"Hmm... flashing lights, loud bells, gates around me... what does it all mean?"

Had some fun with the long-exposure feature on my camera and rode Riccochet twice

Rode Chubasco but didn't take any pics. Spun the car so fast I nearly blacked out and my cell phone flew out of my pocket.

Whizzer had a relatively short wait so I rode that

Didn't ride this, but it has a cool lighting scheme:

Pretty decent day overall, crowds and lines were nuts but otherwise there were no problems aside from other people's stupidity. Anyone else hate when people run right in front of you and then blame you for walking into them?

At my House, it was hot. Walking outside without your shoes is like walking in Hell.

That army thing looks cool. I might head to SFGAm next week.

Jon, do you have a Season Pass?

jonrev - July 16, 2008 06:30 AM (GMT)
I heard the Army thing was good from what I've heard but I haven't been inside it yet. It's at the park for 5 more days.

And yes I have a season pass.

Jon, do you have a Season Pass?

I thought that was a prereq for posting here :P

The midways that you show don't look that crowded for every line having a "nuts line". The Triple Play looks like a walk-on even though that's not a major roller coaster. Where are the masses of people in the waterpark for that particular picture? I don't see anyone in that picture. Sure, it's not close-up to it, but you would think you would see blobs of people walking. Was that open at all? Where the flats walk-ons, or had 2-3 times wait? What time did the Dark Knight have a minimal line?

Also, what do you consider a "nuts line"? Are all the queues going, half going, or just what are you stipulations? For some people, they might say that 4 queues that go back and forth for Superman, and than the rest of the straight line is a "nuts line" even though that's not that bad.

The reason you don't see the long lines in the photos is because I decided not to ride them, I usually only take photos of rides that I ride that day or if something is interesting enough to get a photo of.

Must you have a problem with everything?

Ilovthevu' - July 17, 2008 11:48 PM (GMT)
^No. It's just some people say it's too crowded for them when lines are 20 minutes each. Some people say it's too crowded when they are 40 minutes, and other people say it's crowded when lines are an hour and a half. There is nothing wrong with any of those people's thoughts because that's what they feel. They have been to the park so many times that a 20 minute line to wait for a roller coaster is just way to long. That's the point I'm trying to get at.

I'm still wondering about what time you got on the Dark Knight though.

Last time I checked my cell phone clock while in line was around 10:05. Dark Knight is typically DEAD by the end of the day.
