Title: New Six Flags Hurricane Harbor Competition
Description: Raging Waves

A new park opened in June, and I didn't even know about it until they had a coupon in the paper. This park is in Yorkville, IL which is only a hour away from Chicago.
http://www.ragingwaves.com/pics.htmlIt basically has the same stuff as Six Flags Great America Hurricane Harbor except for that this park has the bigger raft tube slide that is almost all in the dark. SFHH is exactly like that ride (Bubba Tuba, or Mama) - I forget which one is which. It's more similar to the one at Noah's Ark (Dark Voyage). No, water coaster though.
I wish they would have added a ride like Black Thunder at Noah's Ark. That is really fun. Than I would get out there, but for the Dark Voyage partially open, not really.

I was going to say something about it in June but I didn't think anybody would care since it's like 60 miles away from all of you. It's just like hurricane harbor but not so different.

I heard about the new Raging Waters all summer on the radio on KISS.FM

I like Raging Waves a lot better than Hurricane Harbor. For one thing, the food, lockers, and parking are all way cheaper. Admission a little steep at $24.00, but that's about what HH is going to be once it's not free....also, Yorkville is a 20 minute drive compared to over an hour to Gurnee.

I live right across from it

I never heard of the place.
I looked at the photo's on their website.
It's o.k. I guess, but it ain't no Hurricane Harbor! Not a single palm tree in sight in the photo's and no colorful caribbean buildings or nothing! And $124 per person for a season pass is way out there!

Nope. Too expensive and too far away for me.

Anything ever become of this place?
SFGAMZone was the first, last and only time I ever heard a word about this place. Did it do o.k.?

http://www.ragingwaves.com/index.phpApparently, yes. the place is "Illinois' largest water park" Probably why Great America ops for "Best Water Park in the Nation."

Funny, you don't hear anything about the place.
