Title: If you could have one retro ride put back...

CoasterAndrew15 - July 2, 2006 10:11 PM (GMT)
Pick one. I'd want Haybayler back, that ride was the best.

jonrev - July 2, 2006 11:35 PM (GMT)
Haybaler, Sky Whirl, Tidal Wave, Delta Flyer, Power Dive, Shockwave, Ameri-Go-Round and for Other, the Edge.

Hurricane_Harbor4life - July 3, 2006 09:56 PM (GMT)

jonrev - July 5, 2006 12:04 AM (GMT)
Shockwave did go somewhere... the melter.

sfgam123 - July 12, 2006 03:05 PM (GMT)
 Haybayler. It was a fun family ride.(Well for my Family.) :D

Hurricane_Harbor4life - July 13, 2006 12:32 AM (GMT)

And the most painful lol :D

Great America - July 19, 2006 05:55 AM (GMT)
I really think they should of left Shockwave there.

the_franchise - July 21, 2006 02:27 PM (GMT)
But while it was there everyone was saying it sucked and they wanted it gone! I guess Six Flags just can't win.

CoasterAndrew15 - August 23, 2006 08:19 PM (GMT)
You want Shockwave? Go rie GASM at SFGADv. It's as close as there is.

jonrev - August 23, 2006 09:28 PM (GMT)
Yeah, even the roughness is about the same.

the_franchise - August 25, 2006 06:19 AM (GMT)
B) It's the same EXACT ride...am I right or am I right?

CoasterAndrew15 - August 25, 2006 10:37 PM (GMT)
Close...

GASM is Red, Shockwave was Blue

GASM is 173 ft tall, Shockwave was 170ft.

GASM has a top speed of 67 mph, Shcokwave was 65mph

GASM is at SFGADv, Shockwave is part of many titanium objects that aren't rollercoasters

and finally...

when they did run, GASM was never as much of a mechanical nightmare.

Jackluver19 - September 22, 2006 04:22 PM (GMT)
Rolling Thunder, Shockwave, Power Dive and Tidal Wave because I never got to ride Rolling Thunder or Tidal Wave or Power Dive and I really wanted to, But I also miss Shockwave

CoasterAndrew15 - October 15, 2006 12:20 AM (GMT)
If Rolling Thunder is anything like La Vibora at over Texas, it's kinda boring. And there both Intamin Bobsleds.

jonrev - October 15, 2006 12:33 AM (GMT)
^Same layout.

HollisterGuy16 - December 1, 2006 06:26 PM (GMT)
Sky Whirl even though I like Déjà Vu way more.

sfgam123 - February 14, 2007 04:15 AM (GMT)
What was delta flyer???

jonrev - February 14, 2007 04:39 AM (GMT)
Delta Flyer/Eagle's Flight was the park's first Skyride.

sfgam123 - February 14, 2007 04:40 AM (GMT)
Ok

MrsVerticalVelocity - February 14, 2007 10:31 PM (GMT)
Never been on any but I would choose RT cause that ride seems so cool to me!

Isn't La Vidora Rk,,ing Thunder and they just moved it to SFOT.

Viper 06 - February 20, 2007 06:11 PM (GMT)
Rolling Thunder is now at TGE.

TonyMichaud - May 3, 2007 05:59 PM (GMT)
You only need to "miss" Shock Wave and Tidal Wave. Rolling Thunder was lame and King Chaos (in my opinion) is more thrilling than Power Dive ever could be.

Power Dive = maybe get 2-3 upside down moments, if you are lucky.
King Chaos = What cycle are they running? Basically a new ride everytime, of course I have noticed they slack on switching the cycle around.

Eh, I can do loops on coasters all day, and with less pain PD caused, while KC flips and can hold you in interesting positions.

KC 1, PD 0.

Nuff said.

Also, SW was the only Arrow mega looper that is somewhat rideable. For God's sake, have you been on Viper at MM or GASM... ;)   :(

Follow the faces, left to right, they tell the story.

Part of Shockwave is with jon.
SCRAP IT, he/she misses his/her friends/family. :P

cycamps - August 1, 2007 03:32 AM (GMT)
I wish Shockwave would come back. It was such a unique ride experience. At least it was followed up by a great ride though.

viper31 - August 21, 2007 07:23 AM (GMT)
Shockwave what fond memories I'll always have. Rough not to me and compared to how Iron Wolf is with the new restaints Rough has a new definition. Shockwave had power it really left you breathless. My old friend I miss you and only Vortex at Kings Island compared with so much of my love for a ride.

tillenterprises - August 22, 2008 07:00 PM (GMT)
I vote for the EDGE (other). I love first generation freefall rides! It's a hard decision, though- I also really miss Tidal Wave and Sky whirl, and to a lesser extent, Z-Force.

As for Shockwave, my 11 year old says that he wishes he could have rode it- so last week we went to Great Adventure and rode GASM, and it was pretty much the same thing, although on the brake run before the boomerang, the train came to almost a complete stop- I don't remember Shockwave doing that. We rode in the front seat in a completely empty train since it was right before park closing. It was nice riding it again, but I really don't miss it, and prefer Superman.

Luxornv - August 22, 2008 09:33 PM (GMT)
Cajun Cliffhanger, that ride was awesome and the ride itself had so much history.

I also say SSA since I loved that ride; it was always the last ride I rode when I went there with my family when we went there. I will really miss that ride.

M_Force_4_ever - February 19, 2009 07:56 PM (GMT)
I didn't vote because I can't make a 100% decision between Tidal Wave, Shockwave and Rolling Thunder...

Part of me wants Tidal Wave because it would be a credit and shuttle loopers are awesome.

Part of me wants Shockwave because Arrow mega loopers are great and Shockwave was no exception.

Part of me wants Rolling Thunder because it is great (even in it's current location at TGE)

So yeah...

Egypt2112 - March 31, 2009 08:41 PM (GMT)
I really think The Edge would be my ride to bring back! I rode Demon Drop at Cedar Point and it seemed very thrilling even if it is a really short ride. And plus, their is only 1 left in North America.

It wouldnt be a credit because its relocated.

sfgam123 - May 10, 2009 06:14 PM (GMT)
I would kind of want Ameri-go-round back, I have some great memories on that ride, also one vary sad one....

The thing i miss with Sky Whirl and Tidal Wave is the sounds of the motors on the wheels of the SW rotating continuously throughout the day and when it went down for whatever reason, its like the guests in the park freezes because it gets everyone's attention because of the constant noise that it makes when its running, it gets quiet..and you notice it any were in the park. Also SW was a nice relaxation ride that you could chill with friends on.

The thing i miss with Tidal Wave is the sound of the brakes/cables/counterweight operating as the ride starts and runs its course because it got me in the mood to ride it even more. I know that TW is still running as Greezed Lightning (sp), but i miss it being here..:(. Oh well times change....

King Chaos has to be the most boring upside ride ever. Did they make that ride for 4 year olds to ride? Power Dive might have been a little painful, but King Chaos is much more in my opinion, and it was more thrilling than King Chaos ever could be.

The ride I would want back is kind of obvious: Deja Vu of course since it's now "retro".

The second ride would be Rolling Thunder, and the 3rd would be the Hay Baler. Since the Hay Bayler will probably never come back, give us another Flying Bobs ride than!!

pilotgirl21 - October 2, 2009 08:58 AM (GMT)
Tidal Wave for sure. I remember riding it over and over again when I was little and tall enough to ride it. Probably was my first loop ride too.

I also miss the Sky Whirl. It wasn't the most thrilling ride, but if the lines were short enough I would ride it. Also, it was one ride that the whole family could go on together.

amusementparknut - July 22, 2010 10:46 PM (GMT)
I was shocked to see so many results for Shockwave after all people said about it I thought people would be ahppy to see it go I voted for Sky Whirl but I am also putting in my vote for the Hay Baler, Yukon Yahoo (It just looked cool), and Trailblazer

213dittohead - October 8, 2010 02:20 AM (GMT)
I voted for the Shockwave, mainly because when I was a kid I didnt have the balls to get on it. Those 2 gigantic loops intimidated me more than any coaster I've ever laid eyes on. Maybe I'll have to make it out to ride the Great American Scream Machine - just to see what it was like.

Edit: Forgot Chang is replacing this thing. I guess I'll have to go to California to get my Shockwave fix.
