Sfgamworld and six flags website reported it will be close tomorrow due to the winter weather advisory. I think we knew this was coming.

It's snowing like crazy here in the south suburbs (it never snows heavy here past mid-march) So I can only imagine what Gurnee is going through.

I am about 5 miles west of the park and the grass currently is covered in snow. The pavement is warm enough that the roads/driveways are clear. Snow started falling around 3.

Forgive me for being stupid on this. I noticed this post about SFGA being closed last year because of a snowstorm on April 5th?
Did the park open much earlier last year? Or was this just for employee's working private functions?

^ Park opened April 3rd last year, which was the earliest ever by 3 weeks. Attendance was very low so now this year is back to the end of April. It could have worked, but there was absolutely no advertising so no one other than ACErs knew the park was open.
