Kiddieland in Melrose Park, IL will be closing permanently at the end of the 2009 season.

This doesn't surprise me, but I was hoping they would get their heads out of their asses and save this park. I might have to stop over there this summer.
I was there only once or twice when I was way younger, and it seemed decent for a kiddie park. It really wasn't in a good area then, and it's probably worse now. It's unfortunate, but for the better.
That is very sad to hear. Even though I was only there for about an hour, I had a lot of fun and enjoyed the free drinks. And for $18 for adult admission...it really was a great value for the price.
Last I seen (just a week ago), the Polyp is still broke! :(
