Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom has confirmed Chang removal began today:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- The largest ride at Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom is coming down.

The park began dismantling Chang on Monday as part of the largest water park expansion in Kentucky Kingdom's history.

Kentucky Kingdom spokeswoman Caroline McClean said it is expected to take several weeks to completely remove the roller coaster.

Chang is over 4,000 feet long, 154 feet high and has broken five world records. The stand-up coaster was introduced at the park in 1997.

Six Flags is giving Chang to another amusement park.

McClean said Chang is the only ride being removed at this time.

Details about the new water park have not been released.

I really Shocked that Chang is going away to another SF park. This is biggest rumor I have ever heard. The Rumor was about Chang going to SFGAm as part of the 50th anniversary for the parks in 2011. I feel really sad :( about SFKK fans and ACErs seeing their favorite coaster Chang going away. I would really want Chang to stay at SFKK for a long time and not get removed. Everytime I look at the Space Ship thing, I think about myself and say, "Are they going to keep this building or build some kind of coaster?" Near the space ship thing, there was a sign that is said, "Future Site of new Attraction." If the rumors are true, I would be really disappointed why SFGAm would take Chang that was park's most popular coaster and not give SFKK something like a ride. It all because of Shapiro's fault. Also, Chang is almost a clone of Mantis at Cedar Point!

^ Revise those last few sentences. They make almost no sense.

It would be cool if Chang was moved to SFGAm, but I'm not getting excited about it until SF makes the announcement. It's definitely going somewhere since they wouldn't scrap the ride for no reason. Other rumors I'm reading though say SFKK is going to become the Geauga Lake of Six Flags (basically remove all rides and make it a water park).

It would be great though because it's been a long time since there was something to get excited about at SFGAm.

That sign has always been by SSA though just to placate the once a year visitors so they don't think the park is so dull.

Dose anyone know if chang is compleatly gone or how far it is from being gone?

superbleachbrothers - December 24, 2009 10:07 PM (GMT)
I believe that Chang is completely gone now since they said that Chang would be gone by November.

For the refurbishing of the tracks, could it be a possibility that there trying to make it were a floorless train could run on it?

superbleachbrothers - December 25, 2009 04:09 AM (GMT)
Yes, it is posible that you can change the trains for a coaster that was been used for example: The ShaKria. The ride at BGTB used to have floors on their ride. But when Griffin at BGW used floorless dive trains, Shakria's trains were replaced with floorless trains. So I think you can modify the ride from a Stand Up to a Floorless. Also I have never been on a floorless coaster before. I have seen one at Seaworld Orlando back in 2000; but I never got to ride it.

I heard that the Bizzaro theme rides at SFNE & SFGAdv really suck comparing to X2. They say that the ride has terrible painting, special effects, and the sound track is used BOTH the two rides. I think that Bizzaro isn't that bad, but I would build another coaster by using the same goddamn name other than changing the theme of Medusa and Superman. Imagined if Raging Bull was transformed into Bizzaro. The colors woulds suck balls more than the ride itself. SO DON'T EVEN TRANSFORM A COASTER. THE COASTER DOES NOT LIKE THAT!!!!!!

sfgam123 - December 25, 2009 04:13 PM (GMT)
A floorless or sit-down would be pretty sick, but I don't think they will keep it stand-up because of wolf

superbleachbrothers - December 25, 2009 04:15 PM (GMT)
I will agree about that.

sfgam123 - December 25, 2009 04:30 PM (GMT)
But if they were to theme it to say Green Lantern, would it get the Bizzaro treatment?

superbleachbrothers - December 25, 2009 08:16 PM (GMT)
since Bizzaro's colors are purple and blue, Chang would have purple tracks kind of like SFNE's Bizzaro and the would be the same. If they done that, it would be interesting. Also, SF could not have any ideas about the other DC villains such as the Joker, Scarecrow, Mr. Freeze, Catwoman, Lex Luther, or any other villains that DC can provide. Why can't SF use other characters other than BIZZARO!!!! About GL. There is going to be a The Green Lantern movie in 2011 the same year Chang will be open again. It makes sense that the ride would themed to the movie itself. I would think that the tracks would be Green and the supports would be black. IF SIX FLAGS GREAT AMERICA GETS CHANG, IT WOULD BE A MIRACLE TO THE FANS OF SFGAM AND FAN SITES AROUND THE WORLD. THERE WOULD LINES SO LONG THAT PEOPLE WOULD BE HAPPY THAT THERE'S A NEW COASTER SINCE SUPERMAN!!!!!

I can almost confirm Chang won't be Bizarro.

superbleachbrothers - February 2, 2010 12:29 PM (GMT)
^ DC Comics has more characters than Superman, Batman, and Bizarro. I would love to see Chang themed to Green Lantern, Catwomen, Lex Luther, Joker, The Penguin, or any other hero.

Personally I'd rather see something new and original as far as a name/theme goes.

But, knowing Six Flags:
