Title: Z-Force

This was a one of a kind space diver coaster- the only one ever built- that opened in the space now occupied by Iron Wolf in 1985. It had 4 across seating, something unheard of at the time on a coaster, and was almost like a 4th dimensional wild mouse coaster. Instead of harpin turns, like on a wild mouse, it had near vertical dives! i loved the layout of this coaster. It was so much fun to go across the straight stretch of track at the top of the coaster, slowly heading for the first dive coming closer and closer. Upon hitting the dive, your car would "flip, as if entering a loop from the topside, and you would dive in a half loop and end right side up, where you would slowly head to the other side of the coaster and do another dive, etc. There was no roller coaster element ever like the flipping and diving sensations of the Z-Force. I remember riding it several times in a row and after I got home, I could still feel it! When it was at Great America, it was a very smooth ride, but as I understand it, by the time it was moved to Georgia and then Magic Mountain, it had become rough and a headbanger, until Magic Mountain finally scrapped it in 2008. What a shame- there was never and probably will never be another coaster like Z-Force.
