Title: Last Year At Hurricane Harbor For Me?

Tiki - February 25, 2010 01:19 PM (GMT)
This maybe my last season going to Hurricane Harbor and SFGA.
I may become involved in the construction of a museum in Panama City, FL this coming fall. From there I will just permanently relocate down to Fort Lauderdale afterward. I guess I'll have to make a mini HH in my yard!

^Wellp, you can always ride the Dania Beach Hurricane down there

Tiki - February 25, 2010 11:35 PM (GMT)
What is that? I have been there. Our boat is moored at Las Olas and I pass by Hallendale and Dania on the way to Keys. Haven't seen that ride. Had to run towards the keys once to get away from a real Hurricane though.

Right off of the expressway at a place called Boomer's. Kind of like an indoor arcade with a few rides and the Hurricane. Not a bad ride. A little shaky but lots of air

Off US 1 (A1A) or 95?

I'll have to take a look!

Demon_10 - February 26, 2010 10:42 PM (GMT)
I believe 95 towards the airport

Tiki - February 27, 2010 02:57 PM (GMT)
We spend all our time there on the water. I guess I'll have to go inland for a while and see what's around there.

Demon_10 - February 27, 2010 05:08 PM (GMT)
I don't blame you. Have you been to the Bahia Cabana by any chance?

Tiki - March 1, 2010 03:57 PM (GMT)
I have not been there, but I know where it is. It's right down the road from where we are in Las Olas. Probably we will go there if they offer free dockage. A few places do now so we'll see next time were there.

Demon_10 - March 1, 2010 10:13 PM (GMT)
Definately go if you get a chance. Try their philly cheesesteak, you won't be disappointed.

Tiki - March 2, 2010 12:56 PM (GMT)
As good as that sounds, we're not allowed to mix meat and dairy. So Philly Cheese steaks, cheeseburgers are right up there with bacon and shellfish as a dietary no no.
I will stop by there and have something. They probably have good fish and chicken entree's.

Demon_10 - March 2, 2010 11:58 PM (GMT)
That they do. Their hamburgers are good also, if you're avoiding the dairy

Tiki - March 4, 2010 03:10 AM (GMT)
You sold me! Next time I am there, I will go to that place and eat. I am supposed to go down next month because I have to put yet another bow thruster on the boat. You can say almost anything about boats, but for sure, they're darn expensive to keep up with! I just put one in last fall at a mere $2600 and now the other one isn't working! And I am crappy at docking, so I need them thrusters!

Awesome! One of my dad's best piece of advice was to make friends with people that own boats

Tiki - March 5, 2010 12:55 PM (GMT)
Well, I'd like to say I own a boat, but in truth the bank owns the boat and I am merely borrowing it until it's paid off. Which should be about ten years after my 140th birthday. And my ownership is subordinated by mechanics interests and the docking fee's and permits. And the fuel.....Don't get me started on the fuel!
It's not a boat as much as it is a place to just throw money into.

You could have put this in the SFGAm section, but anyway if Panama is near Orlando (I know Florida is big), Aquatica to me looks very close to what Hurricane Harbor is. This waterpark is right near Sea World, so that should be your new Hurricane Harbor type of place.

Tiki - April 30, 2010 06:46 PM (GMT)
That's about three to four hours North of us. We are down in Fort Lauderdale and I believe that place is up in Orlando or Kissimmee.
Where we are looks a lot like HH and so I am not as anxious to go to HH when I am there. It's only when we are here and it's 15 degree's that I really miss Hurricane Harbor. Now my sister lives in Cocoa Beach which is just East of Orlando so I might check it out when I am visiting her.

Tiki - March 5, 2011 05:12 PM (GMT)
Now I am absolutely sure we won't be here for next season.
So I hope I get a chance to meet a few more SFGAMZone folks in person this year.
But you'll have to be at Hurricane Harbor. I am usually there Mon-Fri and avoid the weekends. If there are SFGAMZone shirts this year, it would make it easier.

uouipo1 - March 6, 2011 03:48 AM (GMT)
they sould make the wave pool colder :canospam:

Tiki - March 6, 2011 04:26 PM (GMT)
No!!!! They should heat all the water!
