I was at the Rock And Roll McDonalds up in Gurnee yesterday. The place is getting a little raggedy. Did they change hands or something?
I don't know, but I kind of like that Mcdonald's for the Rock N Roll feelign. That one is much better than the one downtown. For the one downtown, they completely changed it, and the Rock N Roll aspect is about gone except for a little dinky museum outside.
The reason I haven't been in it is because I'm not in Gurnee unless the park is open usually. There just isn't a reason to go all that way unless the park is open. If the park was never there, I wouldn't probably go ever there. For the mall, I even think before that actually used to be more of an outlet type of place, but more recently, they have regular stores like Sports Authority, they HAD Circuit City, and they have that Sears Essentials. All those stores aren't outlet stores. I remember when they had the Paper Factory (good for Christmas, and Halloween decorations), a cheaper book store, and maybe 2 or 3 toy stores that were different, but now I say forget that mall.
To me, now Gurnee Mills is more about everyday people that live over there. It's not as special as it used to be except for the fact that is has a lot of stores. However, Circuit City is gone, and so JC Penney's Outlet. This was from last year I checked. Those are big stores that are gone. They better do something with those spots.
Even that Rink Side Sports I thought was nothing great when it first came in. I guess it's good for ice skating or hockey people, but I could careless about that. Don't they have some ice place anyway around there?? The movie theater is nothing special either. Almost anywhere in any town they have a movie theater. This one happens to be in the mall.
