For all the complainers out there (Heck, I say that they marketed it wrong, but I'm not going to get into that for this topic- that's another topic about poor markerting.), how could they have made this a better ride? I kind of think it's too late now. People have gone on it already, and have made up their mind, but what should they have done better?
First off, the ride is not geared right. You have a ride that is more for younger than teens even though I really like, but yet you have a Batman theme to the ride. This just doesn't make sense. No matter what they theme this ride to, I don't see a lot of teens liking this ride because they feel it's not that thrilling. You can't hide what it is even if it's in a box.
So, let's change the theme to who it should be geared for, and let's say it should be a Scooby-Doo ride. They are still relevant having so many movies in the store or on Cartoon Network. Now, right now the story isn't the greatest story on the ride. Yes, it's Batman but it just isn't right in front of people, and they don't get it.
Also, what I find what's wrong with the ride that people don't get is that the objects on the ride that are key points are right next to the ride. The Joker's on the big screens are to the left of the car, and the Batman on the motorcycle is to the right of the rider. You can't do this. This stuff needs to be at the end of track so people are constantly looking at the object when they are going straight (It's like they are going into the object.) People aren't turning their heads to the right to see the first Batman, and they aren't turning their heads to see the Batman on the motorcycle. They are looking at the track, and looking straight, so they need to show people stuff straight on.
For a bunch of people who ride this ride, they go that's it. The ride is too rushed. This ride needs brakes to slow the tempo down a little bit, and for the Dark Knight ride right now, do people understand the story at all? If the ride had brakes, you could tell the story more. You are on a train, and you are witnessing Batman vs Joker's henchman, and at first Batman is on a rooftop watching for crime. Than, you see Joker's henchmen, and than you see the shooting of Joker's henchman, and than you see Batman on the Motorcycle. Than, the story ends with the horn of the Joker's henchmen. Where's the fight between the actual Joker, and Batman in the ride? Did they forget to order those statues, or what??
And the preshow, why did they show that? Who is this ride for? You have the teens that say this ride doesn't thrill, and than you try to scare the wits out of the kids in the preshow. To me, a better (forget the preshow) thing to do with that screen is to just get rid of that room, and make it a Batman clips from movie and cartoons on that screen. They have a screen at Islands of Adventures for Spider-Man, and all the people in line can see that screen. That to me is what they should have.
Really, it would cost a lot of money to fix this ride up because the way it is, it's serving the wrong demographic with the theming. Again, I like it, but I'm not most people.

Also, Six Flags Magic Mountain has said that they won't build a dark ride at that park because they believe that Disneyland will always have better dark rides than they will. I mean seriously Six Flags. Are you that dumb that you can't build a building, use Sally Dark Rides for building plastic figures, and creating a story?? Really, what is Pinocchio at Disneyland? It's a bunch of plastic figures, a story, a ride vehicle, and maybe some music. Idiots, I tell you. I guess Scooby-Doo at Six Flags St. Louis is a terrible dark ride too? No, it's not Six Flags. Geesh.
It desperately needs re-theming. Or actually just theming. I hate how there's so many open spots along the ride itself. It's much too small and overused (See Ragin Cajun) of a coaster to be thrilling, so it needs good theming to keep anyone interested. Re-theming might cost a ton of money, but dark rides can be among the best in the park. Were it not for it's hideous outside structure which resembles Industrial buildings of Gary, I'd say it'd make an interesting Pyramid explorer ride, with a kit if egyptian theming. Or even a mine ride. The possibilities are plenty and it's sad they used an already used Batman theme.
I been on the DK before and many people complained that the ride sucks and they prefer the movie over the ride. I would understand why they hate this ride; but to my self, I like it. There are some parts of the ride that really pisses me off. On the bunny hill, there's a camera that scares the crap of me, now I need to close my eyes all the time whenever that part comes up.
There is another part at end of the ride which the train sound effect. I think this was new for this season. I didn't know there was going to be a train at the end. When I came face to face with the thing, it scared the fuck out of me. :rant2:
Here is the worst complain I have about this ride. ITS THE DAMN PRESHOW. When I saw the preshow for the first time, It was cool. Later on, the preshow came really boring and it was starting to lay down. I knew every part of that show including the video, light effects, and audio. I just wish I can just skip the preshow and head to the ride instead.
All in all, the ride is ok, but I like it.
Agreed on the preshow. I've seen it, it's boring now, I don't want to see it again. I was also a little disappointed with it this year. Last season, some new effects were added, but nothing was added for this year. I've heard some things that there were some other effects omitted from the original plans, and those have yet to show up. I guess this is it for this ride though. I still don't think it's a bad ride, but there's better stuff. I'll continue to ride it, but it's nothing I'm really excited to ride.
1 NO Preshow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
2 complete darkness
3 Longer ride
4 Live actors in Line
5 Fix the middle it always gets me in the balls
6 some sudden drops would b nice
