That was a very good insider blog! It was very professional to add the source of the stories.
One link took me to the Asheville Citizen Times. I used to live in Asheville. My living room was on the front page of that newspaper because the building we lived in had a devestating fire that destroyed most of the building. The fire was stopped in our apartment, but we lost everything. Ah, the memories!
Very good blog. I hope you will continue it.

^Thank you very much for reading and very glad to hear you enjoyed it. Sucks you had a fire dude, I've been in one myself. I got thrown out of a 3rd story window! Anyway, thanks for reading and it will keep coming because the news never ever stops!!!!!!
Tiki - May 11, 2010 01:24 PM (GMT)
I wasn't thrown from a third story window. That would be a terrifying memory. Our fire experience there was almost twenty years ago.
I read the story about Vegas (particularly Circus Circus) being a vacation destination for children?
I worked for Circus Circus when we lived in Las Vegas. My oldest daughter and my parents still live there. It is NOT a childrens destination regardless of their numerous attempts to make it one everytime the economy softens up.
The indoor amusement park at Circus Circus (which is one tiny coaster and a couple of small rides.) Is almost always empty. The "circus acts" under the big top are there for the benefit of the gamblers below, and children are not allowed on the gaming floor, so they are relegated to the midway which encircles the gaming area. MGM Grand had an outdoor amusement park when it first opened and it didn't last a year.
Vegas is for gambling and other "adult" activities. It always has been and always will be. That's why we moved when our children were young because there is almost nothing there for children except an opportunity to be exposed to the seedy underbelly of degenerate gambling and other addictions at an early age.

Yeah, I didn't find much to do other than the coaster when I visited Vegas last year and I was 20 years old! BTW new blog

Awesome! I didn't get a chance to post the past few days so here's what I wouldve written...
Hello and welcome to Zach’s Theme Park Blog where I deliver the amusement park news, and if there isn’t any I make it up.
Universal Studios (Hollywood, CA) wants to do a $3 billion overhaul. Let the government stalling begin!
http://tinyurl.com/2em7ats Also they have a new special effects show. The secrets nobody cared about have been revealed.
http://tinyurl.com/2ef4ukr Six Flags (New York City, NY) is hoping for a better profit margin this season. A good start was made by replacing management…as if it worked before.
http://tinyurl.com/2bgfd7g http://tinyurl.com/28cxz9v Disneyland Resort (Anaheim, CA) is now selling marvel merchandise. Will Mickey be kicking ass now?
http://tinyurl.com/25a9w9d Six Flags New England (Agawam, MA) is facing an issue of local property owners charging park guests to park on their properties. Apparently the town of Agawam is home to hustlers.
http://tinyurl.com/24xw2dr Walt Disney World (Lake Buena Vista, FL) is cutting the discounts they offer guests, commenting “It’s more magical with your money.”
http://tinyurl.com/252kg8r Apparently Armenia doesn’t regulate rides.

Isn't that California story amazing?
You have a corporation willing to invest hundreds of millions of dollars in upgrades despite the bad economy and the overpaid, underworked bureaucrats that have bankrupted that state are throwing hurdles up. Unbelievable!

In reading your blog and watching Jon's video from the Gurnee Village board, at least I am somewhat heartened by the fact that these bureaucrats are finally starting to realize who butters their bread.

^Well I mean they can't deny the impact of having a major amusement park, and the role it plays on the local economy.

Well blogger isn't allowing updates right now so here's today's blog!
Hello and welcome to Zach’s Theme Park Blog! Yes I’m still trying to use this blog to get laid. Spoiler alert: It doesn’t work!
Cedar Point (Sandusky, OH) is still having trouble opening their new for 2010 water ride “shoot the rapids.” Leading Intamin to announce their new slogan: “Intamin: We screw things up and get bloody.”
http://tinyurl.com/2ezmep5 SeaBreeze (Rochester, NY) reopened after deciding not to open for memorial day last week. The strongest rumors I’ve heard indicate that they feared gang fights so decided not to open. I think they just wanted to have a nice barbecue like everybody else.
http://tinyurl.com/26td8se Universal Studios (Hollywood, CA) is leaving a bunch of shit all around southern California in an effort to “promote” their new “King Kong attraction.”
http://tinyurl.com/2enx4ru Sea World (Orlando, FL) has lost one of it’s killer whales while it was giving birth. The baby whale was a still birth. The plot thickens as we find out the killer whale that killed a trainer in Feb is the father!
http://tinyurl.com/29bz95e Islands of Adventure’s (Orlando, FL) new Wizarding World of Harry Potter’s success could potentially lead to similar expansions at other theme parks. I’m sure plenty of other parks have $200 million ready to spend on a single expansion.
http://tinyurl.com/27ujoyh Busch Gardens (Tampa, FL) has closed their skyride to allow for construction on their new roller coaster. Hell yeah new roller coaster!
http://tinyurl.com/2b6tr9g Theme parks will most likely switch to mobile sales in the future. Sucks for those who don’t have a cell phone.
http://tinyurl.com/29rpraw Disney’s California Adventure (Anaheim, CA) has released the poster for their new World of Color show. The show looks incredible, but the poster on the other hand.
http://tinyurl.com/27cjbne Islands of Adventure (Orlando, FL) is expecting to make millions off of Potter nerds this season. And yes I do plan on getting a wand when I visit the Wizarding World.
http://tinyurl.com/2enhybx A limey is pissed about Wizarding World being in US. It’s because we’re the best!
http://tinyurl.com/26q2b4h ROBOGEISHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!
