Title: You crazy kids!

Tiki - May 18, 2010 04:08 AM (GMT)
Well my phone finally broke and the only free upgrade I could get was this Blackberry Curve thing!
My kids (who are the same age as most of you.) can all make it do things, but I can barely make a call with it!
I bought a Blue Tooth thing too so I can talk and drive in Chicago (pronounced Shit-Cago) Now I have to walk around like one of the Borg with this flashing thing in my ear, a typewriter hanging off my belt. What a mess!

I know how to text on my phone. That and answer it if there's a call. Otherwise i'm quite clueless as to all the "features" it has.

Whatever happened to the hardwired Ma Bell phones that were heavy enough to anchor a battleship?

Found old color TV's and VCR's but no bricks in Gurnee.

The first cell phone I had was one of those Miami Vice bricks. And I gotta say, it was a lot simpler to use than this goofy Blackberry thing I have now.

I traded in that crazy Blackberry thing and got a Droid instead.
I really like the Droid. It's dummy proof so I ( a dummy) can use everything on it with ease.
The reason I got rid of the Blackberry was; the damn battery would die after four hours or so. But I also couldn't get it to do anything I wanted.
I'd try to call one number and it would dial something else. The GPS asked a million "I Accept" questions then just hung. The buttons were so small it was like doing micro-surgery trying to use it. The period and the ampersand keys had to be shifted first whereas the Droid has dedicated keys for those. On the Droid I have both a touch screen keyboard or a slide out one. Even with the weather. I couldn't get the Blackberry to load the weather app. When it finally loaded, you had to type in your location. This one you just touch the weather icon and by GPS it tells you your local weather.
It was much more expensive than the Blackberry, but it's a much better phone for me. I will test the 5MP camera with Flash and video when I am at the park again.
I already know how to download from this phone, you just plug it in and it starts.
I suppose Blackberries are for people who work in an office and can keep the thing on a charger throughout the course of a day.

Gee. Everyone here must be at the park today. Lucky!
