Sure, it's not like they aren't good at what they do, but seriously the Cubs were losing money and they had to get a new guy as the head to buy them out, and the Texas Rangers are now filing for bankruptcy.
To me, these people are playing a game they love to do, and why just why are they getting way too much money for just playing a game they love to play. Sure, it's their career, but why does for instance Derrek Lee get $13 million dollars a year?? Does he really deserve that much money?
It's not that Cubs park wasn't getting enough people, but rather the players and how much money they cost. I could say the same thing about other baseball teams or those other 2 sports, but I know about the Cubs / Tribune financial woes.
Two words. Michael Jordan.
Enstate a salary cap like the NHL has.
I read about a player that gave up 750k just to skip training camp. 750K!?!?! Are you kidding me? That is more than 90% of this country makes in a year! He's gonna give that up just to sit on his ass and be lazy for a couple of months? Wow...I just can't believe that.
