You got lucky! I went through three of them in two years with one of my kids. Thankfully I always buy the extended warranty.
On a side note, I was watching TV (Plasma 42") the other night and I heard what sounded like a firecracker go off and the picture went out. After I cleaned all the little green apples off the floor, I took my TV to Best Buy and with three months left on my four year warranty I got a brand new 46" TV as a replacement. So sometimes the extended warranties are worthwhile. Now putting that thing on the wall was no treat, but neither was taking the old one down.

I found my reciept and yes i did have a service plan I am gonna to send this shit to microsoft to fix it.

If you bought it at Best Buy, they'll just exchange it. That's why I don't buy anything from Target anymore because even with the extended warranty they make you ship the crap, wait weeks and weeks and then ship you a refurb. I went through this with them over several ipods and a digital camera.
I am glad you had the receipt. At least you won't be out of pocket to get a new game console.

That happened to mine about a year ago. Sucks for those 3 weeks when you have nothing to do.

Got mine back last tuesday.
