The print edition had a rendering of what the new sign will look like. The white base will be the same, just the top will be different. It will be squared on the bottom and curved on top, with the Bugs Bunny logo (it will not include the 45th ribbon like some newspapers reported) and the words "& Hurricane Harbor Waterpark" printed underneath "Six Flags Great America." That portion of the sign will be backlit. Underneath will be an LCD and underneath that will be two backlit signs for advertisers. In the newspaper, it had the American Airlines logo with the words "Official Airline of Six Flags" and the Starbucks logo. Hmm...I wonder if that means anything? The sign will be up before year's end as it is in this year's budget.

IMO:
I still like the old sign. They just need to fix it up alittle and get rid of the Time-Warner era logo and it will be good again.

Hmm..new sign. I liked the old one, but it is too old..Walgreens has a more hi-tech sign!

I was actually wondering if they were going to change the sign sometime. I'm looking forward to it.

I like the new sign, there one now is becoming really old.

It's been old. It's starting to get really crappy.

I dont really like the starbucks adds and stuff.

I wanted it chaneged because of the Hurricane Harbor banner.

The new one, yeah they could get rid of the starbucks and AA signs but it's pretty cool.

Because it's been the same sign since it like first opened.

With some MAJOR work, yes it can be fixed. The sign would need to be gutted and all new electronics would need to be installed.

I know really. Anything can be fixed.

Thats alot of work though, they should just get a new sign.

That's basicly what they're doing.

Personally, I never really noticed nor cared about the sign so I have really no problem with the new one.

Well the sign is up now.

Now It'll look good. Not that dumb HH banner.

The problem is that the bottom part of the sign looks bad. Is the paint coming off of it already, or what? Why not it make blue instead of white? I know you are going to say that it's always been that way. It's a new sign you know.

Its just a sign. Not the end of the world. You can live through this drastically changing moment.

It could be. Remember that they kept the base of the old one so the bottom is still part of the old one and is 30 years old

I think the new sign looks great, and while the base needs to be painted its definately an improvement over the last one.

Once the base is painted it should look better. I've heard it looks better in person, and you really can't tell that the screen sticks out. That's the exactsame sign style as Dikta's Sports near my house.

The sign looks way better in real life rather than a pic put up on the internet, I promise. I went by it on Christmas Day, and last tuesday or something (family). Yeah, it looks way better than in the pics. It's realyl nice and really bright. Nice move on Six Flags' part. :)

And anyway, what does it matter if it sticks out? It may not really be too glamorus but it's more pratical. I know it might sound weird but it's easier to see a sign form a road if it's angled a bit towards the road. Easier for people to read and view i guess.

And the base is still up there because if they replaced the old base they'd have to change everything to fit new building codes and blah blah blah money money money. It's Six Flags cheating a bit. Hooray for cheating! :)

Looks better then the old one I have to say but i like the old one more.
