Looks like this park is getting the Riverview Treatment. The highest bid was for Typhoon which went for $250,000.
Chitown from SFGAm World took some photos from inside the park, the first photos in over a year. They can be found here:
http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/scotteddy197...40f1re2&.src=phI will attempt to get out there next weekend for some photos before this place gets bulldozed.
Some good/bad news is that according to news reports, Typhoon will be rebuilt in a new park.

Ya, I went past that place today. What a dump.

It's a shame how the previous owners let the park turn into a (Mod Note: Watch Your Language!)-town. I never went there when it was open but I have heard some really nasty things about the park.
My teacher was talking about it and Riverview today in my Current Issues class.

Typhoon absolutley sucks. It's a TOGO, and it's being re-built. I can imagine it sucking even more.
On a less sucky note, I'm gonna miss Santa's Village at least a little bit. It was a nice little park that really just needed a good managment. Imagine it as a RCT scenario.

Typhoon was built by a small company called Top Fun and I believe there are only two of these kind of coasters.

http://www.suburbanchicagonews.com/courier...TION_S1.articleThis is truly a sad thing. They also auctioned off all the waterslides I believe considering they had photos of the blue one on the Internet. This is truly sad. :(
Typhoon is sold to a carnival. It's going on the circuit.

I went there once with my grandma because she lived close to it.

I heard the Typhoon is a piece of crap, but suposidly it hasa rare incline loop, too bad it was build in a crappy way. The only other coaster I know that has one is Chang at SFKK.

Ill bye it and sell it on ebay.
thrill_god - March 12, 2007 02:04 AM (GMT)
Typhoon would be cool for a backyard coaster.

I actually drove past it the other day and thought of this forum and how fun it was when we were little.

I don't know why but I never liked that place.
