Title: Cajun Cliffhanger a fair removal?
Hurricane_Harbor4life - January 27, 2007 04:20 AM (GMT)
Myself, i think the removal of Cajin Cliffhanger was unfair and uneven. The two girls that got injured on the ride were the ones that put there toes on the wrong position at the wrong time. When the floors raised back to it's starting position, the two girls didn't raised there feet when the ride operator, or even the sign at the entrance told them to. Causing their feet to get squashed between the floor and wall, breaking both of their feet.
Many people thought that the floor raised at the wrong time during the ride, but I don't beleave in this. So I think this is an unfair avantage.

The park could've installed a small plastic bumper that attached to the barrel that prevented feet from getting caught in the floor again, but as part of the settlement, the park was FORCED to destroy Cliffhanger.
What pisses me off even more about this is the fact that they destroyed the historic Riverview ROTOR.
Hurricane_Harbor4life - January 27, 2007 04:28 AM (GMT)
But wasn't the Cajun Cliffhanger the same Riverview ROTOR?

Oh, well thank you for agreeing with me. Also, I agree with you too. The settlement was too rough on Six Flags and CC, of course six flags could have installed some small plastic bumpers into the ride, but like you said, the settlement forced the ride to be demolished , and making a lot of rotor/round up ride fans upset (including me). If I had the chance, would ride CC once again, probally my favorite spining ride, besides Fiddlers Fling. I miss this ride.

Totally a fair removal.
Yes, the girls might have been stupid enough to not listen to the operator, but that proves that the ride is too dangerous to be there in the first place.

Yea but they could of added some bumpers like me and jonrev was talking about.
Also, maybe they could add a new flat like CC if they can afford it, or a round up like Zero G at the County Grayslake Fair.

Great America had one of those back in the Marriott days, it was called Spinnaker and it was located where Batman is now. They took it out when they built Tidal Wave.
The only good photo I know of is this one, it's the white round thing on the left that's in the loading position.

Yeah, those are really cool.
Also, whoever voted for the 3rd answer is stupid.

I think the whole idea of having a poll on this worn out subject stupid.
With that said, Rest in Peices CC.
Hurricane_Harbor4life - February 1, 2007 10:20 PM (GMT)
What do you mean? Do you mean the topic is stupid, because personally I think this is a good topic.
Galvan316 - February 2, 2007 01:45 AM (GMT)
Yes, I think its stupid.... CC was removed in 2001 that was 6 years ago! Christ almighty get over it already.
Listen, im not here to judge your intelligence or anything..but man this topic is stupid
Also since when is a court ruling supposed to be fair for people neligent for something that they caused?
God forbid this happens, but say someone kills your entire family, you think it would be "fair" for the person who did that to only get 6 months in jail?
Put another way, Six Flags was found responsible for something like they did here, you think they'd just get a slap on the wrist for one of there rides cutting off some poor girls toes and feet or whatever?
Think again.

I was just asking for opinions, but then again its your opinion and I can't change it.
And who cares if it had been 6 years, just saying

I would love to go on it now.

I enjoy those rides, and it would be a nice addition to the flats.

I think it's was fair for removal just because it was a really old ride that doesn't get the attendance like it did back in the days. Jester's Wild Ride is a bad replacement ride though too. So, it doesn't make it any better.

I rode it once and loved it. If the park was allowed to keep it, I don't think they would have been able to keep it for much longer because people wouldn't ride it if they knew what happened. I don't think they should have destroyed it though. The ride itself is so historical since it was one of the few rides from Riverview that still existed. As of now, I think the only thing left from Riverview is the carousel at SFOG.
